automated call stated they were calling from Suntrust Bank to discuss my home mortgage. also, asked me were they speaking to me or my wife. and than asked me to input my Zip Code. at this point I hung up the receiver and ended the call. I have a bo not call on phone but guess it does not prevent annoyong calls.

Telemarketer calls that say they contact only subscribers, but won't tell me to what I am subscribed.

Call many times a day and as late as 9:30 pm. I don't answer my phone unless I know who it is either by phone number or caller id name. but it's irrititating to have so many calls and they don't leave a message. Sometimes they actual use my first name. fe96d

This number appears to be the National Sex Offender hotline. It's set up to allow sexual predators to call people and harass them over the telephone rather than attack a child on the street. In order to keep these deviates away from children, it is suggested that you "talk dirty" to them when they call. The expression of extreme vulgarity satisfies their desire for sexual release. Think of it this way: By cursing out a predator, you save a child from anguish. Incidentally, they respond extra well to racially-orient taunts. they call this phone some time 20 or more times a day??? My boss is getting mad. They never talk or say hi or anything , its just dead air. when i call back , its just music. Nothing else? is REALLY ANNOYING!!!!!

Man knew my name and claimed I won a $1,000 online shopping spree, that I only need pay shipping and handling. He knew my address and wanted to know my age and occupation, said information would be coming in the mail in 3-5 days. Not sure what else he knows. I had filled out an online survey the previous day, may have had something to do with that.

My son was contacted by this same number and promised gas vouchers. They've already taken money out of his checking account. He's having trouble cancelling these services that were forced on him. He tried calling these people to cancel and no one ever answers. They also called him back several times as well and when he did'nt answer, they somehow obtained his neighbor's phone number and had them go and get him to force him to talk. I'd like to know how they obtained that information. So here is what everyone else should do. CALL YOUR LOCAL ATTORNEYS GENERAL OFFICE NUMBER, AND REPORT IT TO THE CONSUMER PROTECTION DIVISION. I had my son do so and they will take action for you. Please pass this on to others as soon as possible. This call was generated by someone in Canada where the do not call list is not honored. The sentence in Canada for telemarketing scams is 2 to 6 months. In the U.S. is 5 years and maybe raised to 10 years. Good luck to all.
